Restorative Justice/Practices

In order to move forward, we must look back with intention. Cabrera is dedicated to paying forward on an insurmountable debt.

“Only through healing, can we ever hope to change.”

Shredded Symbols Project

The Shredded Symbols Project is a somatic paper making process that confronts specific incidents of trauma linked to paperwork. Developed by C Fausto Cabrera, artist across genre bring their stories to a healing space with the intention to reclaim the narrative. So much of what we carry can be shifted.

Trauma-inducing paperwork (prison, divorce, immigration, medical bills, etc.) is shredded, pulped, soaked in a sweetgrass elixir, then transformed into handmade paper as a way to honor the past by creating a new slate.
